Letter of Thanks from China Association of Social Welfare and Senior Service (CASWSS) to All Members

Dear all members:

When all Chinese people were celebrating the Spring Festival at the beginning of the new year, the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic (COVID-19) raged all over the country. On January 25, which is the first day of the year according to the lunar calendar, General Secretary Xi Jinping chaired the Standing Committee meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee to specially focus on the prevention and control of COVID-19 and make important instructions. The whole country has launched a defense war to fight against the epidemic and save people's lives.

At the crucial stage of epidemic prevention and control, all CASWSS members thoroughly studied and carried out the work arrangement of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and National Health Commission to promote epidemic prevention and control in nursing homes. With high sense of responsibility for the health and safety of the elderly and great passion, leaders of CASWSS members led their staff to fight in the front line to weave a life protection net for the elderly in nursing homes and composes moving melodies.

In Social Welfare Institute of Wuhan Jianghan District, Standing Executive Member of CASWSS, which is located in the hardest-hit area of Wuhan, President Zhou Chunfang and Party Secretary Xiong Chenggang made rapid deployment and calmly responded to the challenge. In the face of the high-intensity and high-risk epidemic prevention and control task, they led the working team to take good care of more than 800 disabled elders day and night on the front line, and quickly worked out prevention and control measures in nursing homes to provide first-hand materials for the timely issue of relevant national documents. Xu Minli, director of CASWSS Standing Executive Member Xi’an Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Shaanxi, had made early preparation to formulate the "Implementation Norms for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 ", and worked closely with the government departments to conduct orderly and effective prevention and control work to ensure none of the elderly and employees were infected. Xu Jiazeng, President of Zhejiang Senior Service Industry Association, Standing Executive Member of CASWSS, led the staff to earnestly implement the epidemic prevention work deployment of the provincial Civil Affairs Department, and organize their members to work together to do a good job in epidemic prevention. Zhejiang lvkang Medical Care Group, also Standing Executive Member of CASWSS, responded quickly and took jointly prevention and control measures, and the Chairman of the Board, Zhuo Yongyue expressed his care to elders by visiting them in nursing homes. Cui Jingxue, General Manager of Guangzhou Yongai Equipment Co., Ltd., Standing Executive Member of CASWSS, provided information on the purchase of epidemic prevention materials in time and offered warm services to senior care institutions.

When disaster strikes, help comes from all sides. CASWSS Party Branch and administrative leaders thoroughly implemented the work arrangement of the Ministry of Civil Affairs on epidemic prevention and control, making detailed work plan and effectively promoting it. CASWSS contacted with Wuhan Civil Affairs Bureau and relevant social organizations in time to donate urgently needed materials for epidemic prevention to the nursing homes in Wuhan to help fight against the epidemic. CASWSS Party Branch gave full play to the role of core leadership and battle fort, sent timely calling to all party members and staff. Party members and cadres took the lead in making individual donations, all staff responded positively to support the epidemic prevention and control work of the nursing homes in Wuhan with practical actions. Children Welfare and Protection Branch and Integrated Medical Care and Senior Service Branch and other branches of CASWSS also called on their members to support Wuhan in various ways. In the face of the disaster, the managers of CASWSS members in all parts of the country took the lead, led their staff to stick to their posts, be fearless of difficulties, cooperate and perform their duties, and made unremitting efforts for the prevention and control of the epidemic; CASWSS feel so proud of your responsibility and love to the country.

We would like to pay high respect and heartfelt thanks to the managers and staff of all CASWSS members, who are working hard in the frontline Wuhan, who went to the stricken area to offer help with selfless dedication and fearlessness, and those insisting on working on their own position to protect the safety of the elderly! We believe that in the fight against the epidemic, all members of CASWSS will work together to overcome difficulties and ensure the health and safety of all elders!

We firmly believe that under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee led by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the party committees and governments at all levels, with the heroic fighting of the vast numbers of officers and soldiers and medical personnel throughout the country, and with the active participation and unremitting efforts of all the members of CASWSS, China will win the final victory against the epidemic and create a good future.
