1st Session of Forum on Pilot Project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Care Successfully Held in Changsha

On June 3rd, the 1st session of Forum on pilot project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares was held in Changsha, Hunan Province. The Forum was held by Beijing Zhongfu Elderly Culture & Techonology Co., Ltd, affiliated to China Association of Social Welfare and Senior Service(CASWSS), and organized by Changsha Social Work College. Tang Yizhi, Editorial Director of Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of Education, Liu Youxue, Deputy Head of the promotion group  of the project, Zhou shaofeng, Deputy Director of the office of Vocational Education and Adult Education Affairs of Hunan Education Department, and Li Bin, president of Changsha Social Work College attended the meeting, together with nearly 250 people, consisting of heads of the pilot projects, journalists, research and development experts on Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares pilot project, and leaders from relevant departments from 81 colleges and universities in 8 regions, including Shanghai, Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province, Anhui province, Fujian province, Jiangxi province, Hubei province.

In his speech, Zhou Shaofeng, Deputy Director of the office of Vocational Education and Adult Education Affairs of Hunan Education Department, addressed the meeting, congratulating on the opening of the Forum and extended his warm welcome to the leaders and guests from afar. He also gave a brief introduction about the status quo and the down-to-earth and hard-working spirit of the vocational education  in Hunan province to the guests, and then expressed that Hunan province will actively promote the vocational education reform with the "Huxiang Spirit", based on the land of its region to manage successfully the vocational affairs and facilitate the pilot work of the “1 Plus X”  certificate system.

Tang Yizhi, Editorial Director of Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of Education, made an comprehensive analysis of the implementation of National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan in the aspects of the background,connotation, mechanism of the pilot project of “1 Plus X” certificate system and prospect of the system reform. He encouraged social forces to actively participate in the certificate system pilot project, in order to provide intellectual input and the internal impetus to growth of the vocational education. It is hoped that every college and university makes their best efforts to connect the vocational skill level standards with relevant professional teaching standards, adjust and optimize the school-running mode and curriculum setting, and organically integrate diploma education with professional ability.Thus, we can build a lifelong learning society, establish a national qualification framework for the mutual connection and mutually equal recognition of academic certificates and vocational skill level certificates through the reform of vocational education system.

Liu Youxue, Deputy Head of the promotion group of the pilot project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares made an systematic explanation and arrangement for the objectives, organizations, key tasks and overall planning of the project. He also expressed his ardent expectation for the attendants to strengthen learning and intercourse during the forum by sharing experiences to enrich the “1 Plus X” certificate system pilot work, so as to contribute to a better life for Chinese elderly under the direction of relevant policies.

Subsequently, Wang Lijun, head of the review group of the pilot project illustrated the vocational skill level standard of elderly care. Li Yong, vice president of Chengdu Railway Health School, Li Bin, president of Changsha Social Work College, and Li Dongmei, associate dean of Institute of Health and Nursing of Hangzhou Normal University explained the teaching materials, training and teaching and faculty training of elderly care on behalf of primary, intermediate and advanced level of research and development teams of the teaching materials for the Pilot Project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares respectively. The experts answered the attendants’ questions during the meeting.

The representatives attending the forum generally gave a feedback that the forum is rewarding with its innovative ideas and rich contents. The forum was a complete success.
