2nd Session of Forum on Pilot Project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Care Successfully Held in Beijing

On June 17th, the 2nd Session of Forum on Pilot Project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares Successfully Held in Beijing, Changping district, which is held by Beijing Zhongfu Elderly Culture & Techonology Co., Ltd, affiliated to China Association of Social Welfare and Senior Service(CASWSS). Huang Yang, research associate of Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of Education, Liu Youxue, Deputy Head of the promotion group  of the pilot project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares attended the meeting. Han Hua, executive director and legal representative of Beijing Zhongfu Elderly Culture & Techonology Co., Ltd, Wei Bing, deputy head of the training and implementation group of the project presided over the meeting. Over 270 people attended the forum, which includes heads of the pilot work, journalists, the experts of research and development for the project, and leaders of the relevant departments in 135 pilots colleges and universities from 22 regions, such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei Province, Neimenggu Province and so on.

Huang Yang, research associate of Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of Education, detailed implementation of National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan in the aspects of the background, significance, connotation, mechanism of the pilot project of “1 Plus X” certificate system. He encouraged the pilot institutions nationwide to strengthen communication and cooperation with training and evaluation groups, facilitate the effective circulation in the respects of faculty training,equipment for the practical training, implementation of training and examination, actively explore the way of integration of teaching materials and certificates and innovate the link-up process of the setup of school credit bank, in order to run well “1 Plus X” certificate project with Chinese characteristics with the joint efforts of all parties concerned.

Jiang Xiaoling, executive director of the promotion group of the pilot project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares made an systematic explanation of the status quo of elderly care vocational education, the objectives, organizations, key tasks and overall planning of the project. And it is expected to support the pilot work of “1 Plus X” certificate system through enhancing learning and exchanges among pilot institutions under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, so as to improve quality of the talents training.

Subsequently, Li Yong, vice president of Chengdu Railway Health School, Huang Yansong, dean of medical faculty of Changsha Social Work College and Li Dongmei, associate dean of Institute of Health and Nursing of Hangzhou Normal University explained the teaching materials, training and teaching and faculty training of elderly care on behalf of primary, intermediate and advanced level of research and development teams of the teaching materials for the Pilot Project of Certificate of Occupational Skill Testing Level in Elderly Cares respectively. Wang Lijun, head of the review group of the pilot project illustrated the vocational skill level standard of elderly care.

In the same time, Liu Youxue, Deputy Head of the promotion group of the pilot project, hosted a promotion meeting for the examination and evaluation, and faculty training of the pilot project. The meeting focused on the form of examination and evaluation, construction of sites, teams and platforms, methods of faculty training and organization, training and examination, planning of the training courses and basis standard and allocation of credit for the training curriculum, and agreed on the key tasks of examination and evaluation and faculty training in the next step.

The attendants were absorbed in the meeting and interacted eagerly through exchanges of hot topics, such as training fees for the students in pilot institutions, standard of faculty training, methods of examination and evaluation and so on. The representatives generally responded that the idea of the rewarding forum is new and innovative with sparking thoughts. The forum was a complete success.
