Guangzhou Printed Work Plan of Further Organizing and Implementing Elderly Care Service Project

By the end of 2017, elders of 60 years old or above reached to nearly 1.62 million in Guangzhou, accounting for 18.03% of the total registered population. To further implement the prominent spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech related to the work of aging, carry out General Office of the State Council on Suggestions of Establishing and Implementing Elderly Care Service Project(hereinafter Suggestions) and requirements of Guangdong province, recently, General Office of Guangzhou Municipality issued on Work Plan of Further Organizing and Implementing Elderly Care Service Project Notification(hereinafter Work Plan) was officially published.

The Work Plan included 56 measures of care and service, which adopted the frame of 20 fundamental tasks in Suggestions. The Work plan put forward specific projects on enhance elderly care services centered on pension security, home-based senior service, medical security, legal aid, social engagement, transportation, etc.
